Chadwick Aaron Boseman was born November 29, 1976, in Anderson, South Carolina, the U.S. He died August 28, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. He was an American actor and playwright who became a highly respected movie star with several iconic roles. One of his best roles is that T’Challa/Black Panther in the groundbreaking film Black Panther (2018). He has won many prestigious awards. Academy Awards / Best Actor Awards were among them. In 2016, Boseman diagnosed he is suffering from colon cancer. He kept his health a secret until his death from the illness in 2020. But he continued his acting career and supported cancer charities extensively.
Chadwick Boseman’s Early life and education
Boseman was the youngest of three children. His mother was a nurse, while his father was an employee of an agricultural corporation who also worked upholstery work on the side. When a teammate got murdered while he was a high school basketball player, Boseman responded by writing a script and discovered that he felt called to become a storyteller. He completed his high school education in 1995 and attended Howard University to study directing (B.F.A., 2000). While he was a student of Howard, he attended acting classes at the British American Drama Academy at the University of Oxford in 1998.
Boseman went to Brooklyn after graduating from college and attended the Digital Film Academy in Manhattan. He supported himself by teaching and acting at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem. And also, worked in the theatre, writing, directing, and acting. He co-wrote the hip-hop play Rhyme Deferred, which he was cast in, and he played with the National Shakespeare Company of New York.
Chadwick Boseman: Career
Boseman started making television appearances around this time, first with a guest spot on the detective series Third Watch in 2003. Additionally, Michael B. Jordan later stepped into the position he played on the soap opera All My Children where he played for a short time. After that, he participated in several other TV credits.
Boseman also sought out film roles, and in 2008 he made his debut on the big screen by playing a football player in the movie The Express. Later, he starred in the thriller The Kill Hole (2012), which was about an Iraq War veteran who was ordered to murder another veteran in the Pacific Northwest. However, Boseman gained more recognition after being cast as baseball great Jackie Robinson in the eagerly awaited biopic 42 (2013). Then he also appeared in several other great movies.
However, his most notable film was Captain America: Civil War (2016). With that, he first appeared as Marvel superhero T’Challa/Black Panther. In the smash Black Panther (2018), Boseman played T’Challa once again, and his performance confirmed his status as a top-tier cinematic star. Additionally, Black Panther made headlines as the first high-profile film with a nearly entirely Black cast, and T’Challa rose to prominence as an icon. Then in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), Boseman reprised the role. In Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (2020), an adaptation of August Wilson’s play, Boseman gave a brilliant performance as the complex, wounded, and talented musician Levee. He even received a posthumous Academy Award nomination for that role. It was his final role.
Illness and death
Boseman was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, which eventually progressed to stage 4 before 2020. But, he never spoke publicly about his cancer. So many fans didn’t know about it until he died on August 28, 2020. He was 43 years old when he died. He fought for kids who are suffering from cancer and he didn’t forget to make time for them. They spent time laughing. These children will never forget him.
At a film festival, a journalist asked Chadwick Boseman “Tell me something about the second Black Panther film.” Then Chadwick said, “I’m going to die“.
The journalist then laughs and says, “No, we are not ready for Chadwick’s death yet“.
In response, Chadwick says with a smile, “But really, I’m going to die“.
Now we know that he meant his own death here. Because he knew he wasn’t going to do the second Black Panther movie. Because Chadwick knows he will die then. At that time the people there laughed and thought it was a joke. But today they must be sad in their hearts.
Of course, Chadwick is more than an actor. He became aware of his cancer. But he continued to help children who were helpless with cancer. What kind of person is he!! He became a great supporter of children/people who are suffering from cancer despite knowing that they have cancer. He worked for the mental health of children at a children’s cancer hospital. The genuine smile on his face still brings tears to our eyes today. If you see a photo of his last days, your eyes will be wet with tears. Because in Chadwick’s last days, his body was very weak.

Even today he is one of most people’s favorite movie stars. It’s not just because he’s an actor. Because of his humble and genuine nature. He definitely became a great character for everyone. He was a great role model for this society. His name and character are ever immortal.
